Introducing Below Zero + Absolut Icebar, 31-33 Heddon St, W1
Many of you may remember us mentioning many moons ago that we were planning to open our own venue in London when we found some partners who shared the same dream the ball actually began rolling. A huge project like this was never going to be straightforward and it took a little bit longer than expected, but we finally got the doors open just over eight weeks ago with the launch of the Icebar. The PR agency handling the launch set the opening date in stone, which meant us burning the midnight oil to get things finished in those last few weeks. However, being the perfectionists we are and knowing the standards our long term Pengeophiles expect, we did not feel comfortable inviting you until we’d addressed the teething problems that any brand new venue inevitably faces. Now though, our passionate and fantastic team of workers have created a unique environment for us to share many more memorable occasions together.

Below Zero London is a unique venue - after all it wouldn’t be right if we just launched something average when we have spent the last ten years striving to deliver parties different to the norm. We’re quietly confident in saying that we have London’s ‘Coolest’ new venue…the 1000 sq ft Ice bar has a temperature of -5 degrees all year round so you’ll be hard pushed to find anywhere cooler to hang out in London!

The Ice Bar part of the venue has already received an unbelievable amount of press worldwide, engineered by the team behind the famous Ice Hotel in Northern Sweden, all the ice that creates our bar is shipped from the same source, The Torne River in Lapland. Even every ice glass you will drink out of is made from the same River water ice and tested to be cleaner than drinking water!
We've masterminded 10 years of
creating a buzz about Pengeparty so now we’re planning on creating a similar buzz for our 5500 sq ft Below Zero bar and restaurant. Over the next year we shall be building Below Zero’s membership and developing it into a place that we hope you’ll all enjoy spending time in.
We’ve designed Below Zero to be a multifunctional venue. Whether it’s a business lunch meeting where you need to break the ice with a client, a lunch to break up a West End shopping expedition with the girls, an intimate dinner for two, a corporate product launch, a mid week drink after work or to begin a big Saturday night out, the way the venue is separated over two floors makes it the perfect place for a host of different functions.
Below Zero has the capacity to cater for approximately 270 people over two floors, including up to 60 people in the Icebar. Situated in Heddon St off Regent St in the heart of Mayfair, we couldn’t have picked a more exclusive location and we’ve spared no expense fitting it out. Hopefully our attention to detail throughout the venue should ensure a luxurious and comfortable visit when you come and see us. Currently we are restricted to opening at midday and calling last orders at 1am although with the aid of special one off licenses we expect to be able to allow occasional later entertainment.
We serve food from midday to 11pm and we’ve found an Australian chef by the name of Dimitry Rodes who has put together a varied grazing menu, which offers the option to pick and choose from a complete international spectrum of varied dishes and tastes; from Oysters or Sashimi served on ice-plates, to Swedish meat balls or a 400 grm Rib eye, if you are hungry or just feeling like a snack, the portions we serve are sensibly sized and reasonably priced for the area. Our cocktail menu created by Bar Manager Casio Ottoni has a number of signature recipes that haven’t been tasted elsewhere. He has won 5 world bar tending championships so we’re confident in his ability to deliver an excellent selection of drinks.
Finally we have pooled together a team of enthusiastic friendly staff who all have a passion for their roles and as a team we know they are looking to establish Below Zero as one of the best places in town. So, whether you’d like to reserve a table for dinner, book yourself a 45 minute time slot including a complimentary cocktail in an ice glass, or just pop in and lounge on one of our vip beds whilst having drink, we look forward to entertaining you soon.
And of course it goes without saying that we will have some of London’s finest Dj’s getting behind the decks spinning the tunes playing some suitable tunes whilst you are enjoying the atmosphere.
BELOW ZERO LONDON and THE ABSOLUT ICE BAR has been hailed as Europe's coolest new venue being positioned number one in Marie Claire's pole for Europe's coolest new establishments. Amongst a multitude of worldwide press, Television coverage and press articles worldwide we have already been shortlisted for our first award for Best Ambient Bar, in the "Theme" magasine annual awards. We will find out whether we have won at the end of the month, fingers crossed. Open 7 days a week it's the perfect place to chill out, drink cocktails, dine and experience the talents of Dimitry Rodes, a young talented head chef who has created a modern european grazing menu to wet anyones appetite.
We've got a resident Dj playing until close weekend nights making this a perfect place to start your evening if your planning to head out clubbing. Sunday's we'll be launching "Champagne Sundays" a cool new night giving everyone a perfect place to come wind down from the weekend.

THE ABSOLUT ICE BAR
This speaks for itself one of 3 unique ICE HOTEL partnered ICEBARS in the world. Before or after your meal, a visit to the surreal world of the ABSOLUT ICEBAR is a must. Kept at a frosty minus 5 degrees, nearly everything is made out of crystal clear ice from the Torne River in Sweden including the tables, walls and even your glass. Step inside a giant Absolut bottle craftily sculpted out of ice, or just relax with one of the many vodka cocktails on offer (one is included with your price of admission). The ICEBAR is operated in 45 minute time slots, and a stylish sub-artic silver cape is provided to keep you warm during your visit. When booking at Below Zero this is for a reservation in the restaurant and not in the ICEBAR.
Soon to receive a complete refit in March, the next design is sure to be even more elaborate it's an experience that you need to sample once just to say you have done it. There's no where else in this country you can see such amazing engineering, compliments of mother nature and the expertise of ICEHOTELS ice sculpturers. We are just awaiting the installation of our new projector and screen and once installed we'll be able to show a regular movie in the afternoon. Food, drink and entertainment will be available all day so if you are generally bored on Sundays with no where to go during the winter months Below Zero doors are open. Champagne will be available all day on request at a reduced price to get everyone in the mood to forget about any winter blues!
